My coworkers’ baby was born a few months ago with a severe intestinal defect. After he was born, his parents were told he was not able to survive and to prepare for his passing within a few days. He is a fighter and with the Lord’s help defied the doctor’s prognosis. It is truly through the miracle of prayer that he is still alive. His family has been through an enormous amount in the past few months. The specialists had wanted to wait until somewhere in October to give him a chance to further develop his intestines before doing a surgery which may offer some hope of repair, but unfortunately the necessary treatment has damaged his liver to the extent that they can no longer wait. The surgery has been scheduled for tomorrow morning (Friday, 9/26/08, Eastern time, USA). As expected, the doctors have expressed serious concerns regarding the outcome of this surgery. His family is requesting prayer that he will be healed through the surgery and will recover fully despite the medical prognosis. I would ask that you pray for Chase and his family as they face yet another major hurdle towards his recovery.
