Good morning,

I am requesting prayers for me and other staff members who are under the supervision of a workplace bully. This person micromanages every aspect of the job. This even includes getting flyers approved by her for our individual programs or what she wants on our T-shirts verses what we have collectively agreed on. We are Directors under her authority, but she refers to us as managers and herself as the only Director. None of our ideas for our programs are ever considered. It’s her way or no way. We even have to ask her permission to perform the job requirements that our different grants have given us authority to do.

Our work hours are from 8:00-5:00, but she reports late to work between 10:30-12:00 and leaves between 3:00-4:00. I just happen to live down the street from this woman so I know that she is home most of the time. My family often calls me to tell me her car is parked in her drive way. Yet she tells everyone that her supervisors have her running all over the place. We have to sign in to work each day and are the only people who must do so. This is inclusive of lunch. She never signs in or out and takes her time doing what she wants to do. It is rare that she gives notice to me and other Directors concerning when she will not be in. She has to approve most everything that we do, so our information can sit on her desk for days until she returns. Even though we submit things in a timely fashion, her secretary incorrectly stamps the wrong date of submission on our forms and covers for her in her absence.

On top of all of this, she is her own immediate supervisor as she is the Director of one of these programs. She shows favoritism to her program and often steals students from our programs to ensure that her program meets their number requirements which are significantly lower than the other programs required numbers of students. Her staff often gets days off (off the books of course) while she is reluctant to allow the other Directors to allow their staff time off after working beyond normal working hours. She criticizes our staff and tells us that our management styles are not up to her standards. As a result, the morale here is non-existent.

We need deliverance from her. We love working with our students and making a difference in the lives of children, but she is making things unbearable. I have been on this job for over fourteen years and honestly worked my way up the ladder. She has been here for about nine years, but was given the Executive position by our former Executive (who is friends with her aunt). No one in upper administration is paying attention to what she is doing or the countless complaints that have been received.

With the exception of her staff, we all walk around as if we are on eggshells never knowing what each day will bring. I try to encourage my staff and let them know that I appreciate what they are doing, even if the opposite is being said about them. I’m not sure how long I can continue to motivate others when I need the motivation to go on myself.

I say all of this to let you know why I am requesting others to pray on our behalf as well. We truly love our jobs and if it were not for the difference that we are making in the lives of low income students to push them toward a better life, we would all quit. It is like Satan has placed her here to deter us from doing good and changing lives. Please pray with us that God will hear our prayers and that her supervisor will have the scales removed from his eyes and get rid of her. Thanks for helping us through prayer. May God Bless you!
