The Colors Through God’s Eyes

When I look at the colors of the leaves in the Autumn months I am mesmerized by the intensity of hues. The bright reds, the blazing oranges, and beautiful yellows. When I lived in Pennsylvania I tended to take this for granted as I say this all the time. It wasn’t until I moved to a more urban area of Southern California with fewer trees that I longed for the colors of changing trees in Fall. But still I didn’t realize or think about what it takes for those colors to come like they do. You see it takes the leaves dying to start the process of the colors changing on the leaves. And that’s how it is in our life with God. It’s not until we die to our own sinful desires by repenting and asking Jesus to forgive that we start to become a beautiful people. Only a person in Jesus can become full of color. That’s the potential of color that God had in his eyes when came to earth as Jesus to give his life up as a perfect sacrifice for our sin.

Jesus, I give you all of me. Change my selfish desires so I can be more like you. Forgive me for my sins I ask today. Thank you for giving your life in exchange for my life. In your name I pray to you, Jesus, Amen.

There’s Always a Beautiful View For Us

In the wilderness of life you find yourself wondering what is there that’s good anymore. Maybe a loved one passed away or is terribly sick, a close friend betrayed you, or financially you could be losing everything you worked so hard for. Life can beautiful one moment, and next moment kick you in the stomach and leave gasping for air. In fact Jesus himself, the One and only true God, dealt with horrific circumstance. But because of Jesus, one day we will see Paradise and it will look even much better than this mountain view. We are only temporarily here and we will live eternity somewhere else, be it hell because we did not choose Jesus’ Way, or Heaven because we chose Jesus’ Way. I’ve had my share of pain, but I choose to seek Jesus who has all the answers and peace for my weary soul.

Jesus, be with everyone that is struggling today. Be their guide and their source of peace as they seek You. I desire to have more of your Spirit and not live for y own selfish desires. I choose to place you at the front of my life even when I experience persecution for your name sake. In your name I pray to you, Jesus, Amen.

Today’s Prayer Requests

Have Grace When Someone Appologizes

When you are in an argument and the person decides to say that they are wrong and asks you for forgiveness, it’s tempting to kick them while their down. It almost seems like it makes you feel more justified and let the anger out when you don’t them off the hook. They’re vulnerable, and telling them just how bad they hurt you makes you want to argue even more. However, it takes maturity to accept an apology and be respectful. In fact it takes true forgiveness of your heart to accept an apology. And what you’re really doing is letting yourself out of a never ending maze of hurt and hate. Now if someone is constantly hurting you, that doesn’t mean that you should stay in a place of hurt and manipulation. We should use Jesus’ example for ourselves. This isn’t always possible for us, but that is where we ask Jesus to give us strength to do His will.

Jesus, teach me to do your will and have forgiveness as you would have me forgive. Show me you way of love.
